Our workshops are designed to bring new skills and opportunities to adults and families. We have designed these programs to teach practical skills and give pathways for people who want to connect with nature in a way they never have. It’s incredibly difficult to find the tools and motivation to learn, especially if the outdoors aren’t a comfortable place. We’d like to change that. Sign up as an individual or bring some friends!
Discover the hidden stories of the forest through the ancient art of animal tracking. This 2-hour workshop introduces the fundamentals of reading tracks, trails, and signs to better understand the animals around us. Perfect for nature lovers, families, and aspiring trackers. This repeating program can be taken as a standalone class or taken multiple times. Each class will be different as the tracks we find will be different.

RegisterLearn the fundamentals of primitive fire-making. In this hands-on session, you’ll practice safe carving techniques, make your own friction fire kit to bring home, and understand the role of materials, technique, and mindset in fire creation. Participants should expect to leave having made fire by friction with a kit carved by their own hands.

RegisterThe forest is full of hidden color waiting to be discovered. Harvest plant materials, work with mordants and heat, and create your own vibrant dyes. You’ll walk away with a hand-dyed handkerchief, and you’re welcome to bring along a small white cotton item (like a t-shirt or bag) to experiment with. We’ll also prepare naturally dyed raffia to use in our upcoming Coil Basketry class.
