Forest Playgroup

Forest Playgroup is designed to supplement standard preschool options in Westchester, providing a natural conclusion to the school day. This program is ideal for children ages 3-5 years old, including those enrolled in UPK or other preschool programs. It offers an opportunity for families to connect with nature and build a community with like-minded individuals. Parents can participate with their child or drop them off.

Note: Children must be potty-trained and able to express their needs.

Playgroup Schedule: Monday - Friday, 2:30pm - 4:30pm (drop off: 2:30pm - 3:00pm)
Group Size: Max 10 children with 2 instructors

FOREST PLAYGROUP CALENDAR:

Classes starts September 8, 2025 and end on December 19, 2025. There are no classes on the following dates:

Indigenous Peoples’ Day: October 13, 2025
Thanksgiving Week: November 24, 2025 – November 28, 2025

PRICING & FLEX PASS OPTIONS:

Families have the flexibility to choose how many days they would like to attend Forest Playgroup.

1 day per week = 14 classes
2 days per week = 28 classes
3 days per week = 42 classes
4 days per week = 56 classes
5 days per week = 70 classes

Payments are made in installments and families have the option to remove December from their registration. The final installment (November 1) is a smaller amount, as December is a shorter month with fewer program days due to holidays. If families plan not to attend in December, please let us know before November 20 so we can adjust the registration accordingly. Payments are nonrefundable and unused classes are considered forfeited.

Flex Pass: For families seeking even more flexibility, a flex pass is available, allowing attendance at any five sessions throughout the season. Any passes/sessions unused roll over for one more season.

Forest Playgroup at Gedney Park

Similar to our Forest Playgroup at Brinton Brook and Marsh Sanctuary, our Gedney Playgroup is the best way to supplement preschool with natural play, education and best of all–adventure! Kids engage in free play, guided exploration and crafting, and engaging activities with a great group of kids and families. Our playgroup at Gedney Park is ideal for children ages 3-5 years old.

Playgroup Schedule: Tuesdays and Thursdays, 2:30pm - 4:30pm
Group Size: Max 10 children with 2 instructors

PLAYGROUP CALENDAR:

Classes starts September 15, 2025 and end on December 12, 2025. There are no classes on the following dates:

PRICING OPTIONS:

Families who live in the Town of New Castle (Chappaqua) are eligible for resident pricing, while those outside the area fall under non-resident rates. The cost for the program is paid in full at registration. There are no flex pass options for Gedney Forest Playgroup.
